"ABC A Blue Chair" An abecedary using covers and pages from a dictionary (copyright 1936) with images that were added digitally to illustrate each letter. The transparent ink allows for some interesting results when the tiny dictionary illustrations pop through in unexpected places, and the background (of black Arches cotton rag paper) accentuates the indexing cuts on the fore edges. Concertina structure, 8.75"x6" wide closed, 8.75"x12' wide when displayed. $400. (A very small and subtle word, hand-printed somewhere in the margin of each page, strings together with the other words in margins to form a 26-word sentence - "A BLUE CHAIR…") |
