Bow-Tie Man

- had a standing reservation for two every Friday
night at the elegant restaurant. Pierre, the
maitre d', seated him (always at the same table),
and the wine steward brought a bottle of champagne
in a silver bucket, but did not open it immediately.
The man ordered an Absolut while he waited, but after an
hour, he asked to have the champagne uncorked. The
unmistakable popping sound, full of anticipation and
celebration, did not seem appropriate for the table
that was missing one celebrant...
