He had pounded his share of nails during the summers of his undergrad
years, but when he moved on to grad school, his future as an architect
moved him indoors to the drawing board. Now, with his own firm, Eric
still liked to be on-site for each new building, laying down the
chalklines where the walls would be going up, straight and true.
